I hate writer’s block

When I first started blogging, I thought I needed to write something every single
day, and that everything I wrote had to be about marriage. I’m over that now.

  1. In my opinion, the days of people coming by every day to check your site for new content are gone, past, bye-bye. Most people use feed readers, it seems, so they’re just content to wait until Bloglines or whatever tells them you’ve updated. At least…that’s what I do myself. And since I follow a dozen or so blogs in my feed reader, I don’t even notice who updates daily and who doesn’t. The pressure’s off!

  2. No big. I used to think I had time to check my fav blogs everyday.
I was wrong. But we do look forward to all your posts.

  3. Marriage is like blogging because, as much as I’d like to, I can’t afford to give my wife flowers every day, and my sonnet-composing time isn’t what is used to be.

    Or something.

  4. Jared, Or something. That’s deep, man. Really deep. :)
Curt, I get ton’s of hits from lots of old posts and links you sent my way. I appreciate being in the ministry of healthy marriages with you. Even so, I’d go nuts if I only posted on marriage.

  5. I feel like I have to post every day still. I’m a little over a year old though. Maybe I’ll get over it but so far I haven’t missed a day and, considering the lower quality content of those days, that’s probably a mistake. I check about 1/3-1/2 of my blogroll daily, but it’s hard to have time to check ALL of them let alone write something myself. I can’t imagine how I’d do it with a life or a family of my own. You’re probably doing the right thing.

  6. Hi. I’ve been clicking around the net a little looking for some bits about marriage and found this sute…
You’re right, you don’t need to blog every day, or always blog about marriage, but thanks for all that you have blogged on marriage so far! I’m looking forward to having a good look around your old posts. I’m trying to be a little more deliberate in thinking about my own marriage at the moment. We all need all the help we can get!
